What We Do Matters: A Journal for Nurturing Overall Health and Wellbeing in Education
Our Journal for Educators is thoughtfully designed to support teachers, administrators, and support staff in the educational system on their journey towards enhanced mental health and overall wellbeing. In the fast-paced and demanding world of education, it’s crucial to nurture, not only the minds of students, but also the well-being of those who dedicate themselves to shaping young minds.
Our Journal serves as a sanctuary where educators can prioritize their daily gratitude and intentions, guiding them towards their goals one mindful step at a time. Each day presents an opportunity for reflection and growth, encouraging participants to focus on the positive moments, set meaningful goals, and align their intentions with their aspirations.
At the outset, our journal offers a series of engaging activities aimed at fostering gratitude, clarifying objectives, and setting intentions. By dedicating just a few moments each day to these practices, educators can cultivate a sense of purpose, resilience, and balance in their professional and personal lives.
Research shows that journaling and expressing daily gratitude, promotes a positive frame of mind and increases one's growth mindset. Studies also show that by physically writing down what one is grateful for and surrounding oneself with positive thoughts will undoubtedly help a person to fell more positive about themselves. When we write down what we are grateful for, it encourages us to focus on what we have in our lives rather than what is missing. We have also learned that when we physically write what we are grateful for, down on paper, our brains release both the feel good neurotransmitters of dopamine and serotonin; thus, reducing the feelings of anxiety and depression. "What we do matters."
As educators, we are the driving force that helps to prepare our young people on their journeys as they help to shape society, both socially and economically. The way we present ourselves, from the moment we walk into our schools, down the halls, and into our classrooms matters. Our energy, our enthusiasm, and our behaviour are key factors that either promote learning or detract from learning happening at all. The way we connect with our students matters.
Join us in this transformative journey of self-discovery, mindful living, and holistic well-being. Let our What We Do Matters Journal for Educators be your companion as you navigate the highs and the lows of each day, empowering you to thrive both in and out of the classroom. Together, let's nurture a culture of self-care, positivity, and growth within the education community. "What we do matters!"
